It has been part of the annual celebrations of CRSPS - for 40 years - to come to the Sebastian Inlet in August for a weekend of barbecues, clamming, and camaraderie.  For years, we were based at the "Sandrift" but that motel was destroyed in the hurricanes of 2004.  Now, we have found a new home at the Sportmans' Lodge and we are lovin' it!! The clambake was from Friday, August 17th 'til Midnight Saturday...

Enjoy the photos below and join us next year!!

Friday night everyone arrives. It is Bob Schwarm's 90th birthday, and we toast him with Jan Turner's famous Jell-O Cocktails!
Saturday morning, and we are all out early clamming!  The Sebastian Power Squadron has provided us with pontoon boats where we can get refreshments or take a break.
Sebastian Power Squadron pontoon boats rafted up.

Penny and Bob are manning one boat, while the other was used to ferry our members out to the clam beds.

Squadron members Jane Turner, Marcia Militello and Jim Meyer are enjoying the dig.
We are back on the dock after a morning of clamming.

Now to unload the clams and go cool off in the Sportmans' pool!

We really appreciate a good soak in the pool after digging clams!
Howie Schlitt and Jim Meyer are pretty relaxed..
We are off to the races!  The horse races are another "tradition" - the Clam dig wouldn't be the same without it. Barbara Harrison's grandkids are in charge of moving the horses.
What an enthusiastic crowd at the race track.  Some folks take this pretty seriously!!
Well, Jack must have alot bet on his horse that he has to get up and give it encouragement!
Following the horse races - time for the barbecue!  Deep fried turkey. and all kinds of goodies, especially clams!
Our cooks Ray and Jack, take a break
Wow!! LOOK AT THAT LOBSTER!
Barb's grandson Kevin is pretty proud of his 11 pound catch!!!
Lena Parsons, Debbie Figuiera, Barbara and Jim Meyer, relax after dinner.
