On the 8th of May, 2004  several members of the Squadron
bravely took to the Loxahatchee River to challenge each
other and brave the dangers of nature..
The beauty of this Cypress Swamp and its wildlife makes the trip a wonderland.  As occurs every year, the departure goes smoothly..

Check out the turtle!! We don't bother him!

Commander Carin and husband Roger arrive at the first portage.
Check out Roger... safety, safety! Look!  He's got on his lifejacket!

Good thing as the river was very low and the falls could not be taken
by canoe!!  So, portaging began..

Will our Commander survive the trip?  Hmm, she looks a bit
worse for wear right now....

Dean, don't you own ANY other canoeing outfits????

With the river so low, there are constant obstacles..

Ah..guys? Canoes work better in water...

Are we getting tired yet???  Hungry maybe??
Well, you are not at the island yet....jeez, the fun has just begun..

Dean gets right in and lends a helping hand... and then some..

What would a Commander do without a GOOD P/C along...

Carin has it under control....now...

...and her skill as a 100-ton Captain, brings proper recognition..
But now for a break.. ahem.. some R&R and some food!

All too soon the lunch break is over and it is time to leave.

Roger is cheering madly..
.. someone must have told him the remainer of the
river is all open water!!!!  And look everyone made it!!

Congratulations to our hard working, hard playing members!!
