Every August, the members of Coral Ridge Sail and Power Squadron
gather together near the Sebastion Inlet to renew friendships and share good times
with other members of District 8.  This year, the weekend was
held again at the Sanddrift Motel on the weekend of 20-22 August,  2004.

For those who arrive in time on Friday night, everyone goes bowling.

Saturday AM, is time to go clamming!

This year, the boats of the
Sebastian Inlet Sail & Power Squadron,
were our host boats out on the clam flats..
 The clamming starts in earnest
even though it often has to be done
one handed. As it turns out
the clams were few and far between this year..
The dynamic trio of Mo, Bob and Penny,
have a nice little respite while clamming.
The use of the Sebastion boats,
really makes for a fun clam dig!
Jane, Dan, Janine and Jim find more activity
at the bar boat than on the clam flats.
There were some folks that relaxed
with a game of Dominos.
Here we have members of Coral Ridge
facing off against members of the
Sebastian Inlet S&PS.
The afternoon calls for the playing on another
CRS&PS annual event... the horse races!
The dynamic trio of BB's gather again
back on land....
What is the attraction???
Bob seems to attract fans, like
a bee is attracted to honey....
 The weekend wouldn't be complete
without at least one rain storm!!
But we came prepared!
The annual deep fried turkeys are almost done
thanks to our chefs Rich Walker and Ray Ramey.
The dinner will also be enjoyed by members of
the Pompano Beach and Sebastion Inlet
Sail & Power Squadrons and our D/8 Commander.
The more, the merrier!!
Bob Redon, Bob Schwarm, Dean Jackson
and Mo Christie, await dinner to be ready
 Howie, Evelyn and Jane, begin
to chow down the evening's feast.
Not only do we have lots of nibbles, veggies
and turkey, but this year we get to enjoy the
infamous "Turner Southern Crab Boil"!!

YUMMMY!!

Then came the opportunity to celebrate
a couple of birthdays!  What a better time!

Happy Birthday to
Jim Meyer and Mike Turner!

The evening celebration, signifies the end of the Sebastion Clam Dig Weekend.
Sunday morning, everyone heads home, enriched by a great weekend with our boating friends.

FLASH - NEWS ALERT
We are sorry to report that following Jeanne, the Sanddrift is pretty much gone -
roof off, cottages destroyed.
We hope that they are able to rebuild before next September.
Our best wishes and prayers are with everyone and every business
that was damaged by all of the recent hurricanes!
