It was a bit foul and the air was a "wee bit thick", as they
say, as we all set out for our St. Patty's Day Raftout
18 March, 2000

We gathered and warmed ourselves a wee bit,
before heading out to brave the stormy eve.

Might ye have any idea how many
"fair weather" Irishmen it takes
to coil some line????

Aye.. it was lonely grey out on the Intracoastal...

...Now we had a fine pairing of Lephrecauns at the
wheel of our vessel...

We arrived safely at Lake Santa O'Barbara
and were soon joined by Joe O'Billera and the FunHouse

Our fine Commander stands by to
greet the Fun House..

Joe brings her alongside, and then quickly
returns to the fine party that was goin' on...

Being such a fine crowd it was no time
at'all before the crowd was mixin' it up
and havin' a grand old time

Aren't we all looking a bit green now...

Betsy and Ted come aboard, while Commander
Ellen samples the green pickles...

There's all kinds of fine food there
for the tastin'....

And will you look at this fine group.  Now you would think
that the party might be quietin' down, but alas!
The MacMillans in Lockie Two, pull alongside with
another boatload of fine Irishmen...

Now the party can really begin!
And, we let our Commander set the pace...

Now, there's some fun to be had by "roasting" our fine Commander
a wee bit early.  We have a great leader here, guys!

Eventually, we parted ways and headed on home..
Rumor has it that the evenin' continued on shore,
with several Leprecauns and friends enjoyin' the hot tub..

Why, one fairlass awoke the next day with green hair!
That will teach her to joke about the wee folk....
Now, why would the wee folk do that??
Aye, they just enjoy a good time, just like the
members of Coral Ridge Power Squadron...
